Deacon Damion D. Evans Sr.
Damion was born to Joan Evans & Samuel Baise Sr. He is a Delaware native, youngest of 5 children.
His early education was in the Wilmington public schools. He attended The Higher Ground School of the
Bible Institute, pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies & Theology.
Damion grew up in one of the many project communities in the city of Wilmington. Despite his mother’s hard-work & perseverance to provide a comfortable life for him, at a young age he was introduced & turned to selling drugs. Becoming a father at the age of 15 made the “hustler” lifestyle appeal to him. Giving him access to fast-money. He was a drug dealer & used marijuana for the majority of his teen & young adult life. In 1997, after meeting his wife, Damion’s outlook on life began to mature and he left the “hustler” lifestyle behind.
In 2001, Damion was united in holy matrimony to Prophetess LaShele Jones-Evans. Together they are the proud parents of 6 children: Dantesia, Damiah, Damion Jr., Alonzo, Myesha & Alonzo III, 2 granddaughters; Milan & Theory-Chanel
and 4 God children.
In 2001, Damion became a member of Higher Ground Ministries Inc., under the leadership of Apostle Linda D. Tucker & the late Bishop Nathaniel Henry. Though Damion was a member of the church, he was not yet in a place where he wanted to fully surrender to God. He continued to waver back & forth between church & the streets. After many tribulations & trials; losing 2 best friends to gun violence, another to 50 yrs in prison, and the death of his Spiritual Father (Bishop Nathaniel Henry) he began to recognize the hand of God on his life.
In 2009, Damion surrendered his life to God totally & re-committed himself to Higher Ground Ministries Inc. He humbly positioned himself to be taught the Word and chased after God through fasting & prayer as well. He joyfully served as a Deacon & a member of the Men on the Rise Ministry.
In 2012, the Lord called Damion & his wife out to lead their own ministry; Heaven Touched Outreach Ministry.
Together they host weekly bible studies, “Help, Show Me How to Make it” bi-monthly empowerment services and “Feeding the Streets” monthly outreach. Damion continues to serve along his wife as a Deacon.
Though all has not been crystal clear, Damion recognizes the ordering of his steps by God. He found that living for
Christ, serving his family & serving in Ministry is the most fulfilling thing in his life.
Pastor LaShele N. Jones-Evans
Born to Leslie Jones-Wilkerson & the late Noah "Chilly" Wilkerson. LaShele is a Delaware native, second of 5 children. She attended Goldey Beacom College, majoring in Business Administration. She later received a Bachelor's degree in Theology at The Higher Ground School of the Bible Institute,
where she later served as a certified teacher.
In 2001 LaShele was united in holy matrimony to Deacon Damion Evans Sr. Together they are the proud parents of 6 children; Myesha, Alonzo III, Dantesia, Damiah, Alonzo, Damion Jr., 2 granddaughters; Milan & Theory-Chanel and 4 God-children.
From 2001 to 2012, LaShele served at Higher Ground Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Linda Henry-Tucker & the late Bishop Nathaniel Henry. It was there; she was nurtured by and taught the Word of God. In March of 2003, LaShele was licensed to preach and later ordained an Elder at Higher Ground Ministries. It was there her Prophetic Office was also confirmed & brought forth. She served as an amour bearer, an Elder, a youth & young adult advisor and a voice on the mass choir.
In 2011, LaShele was ordained as the Assistant Pastor of Higher Ground Ministries, where she diligently served alongside her Apostle to help carry out the vision of Higher Ground Ministries.
In 2012, the Lord sent LaShele to begin Pastoring “Heaven Touched Outreach Ministry.” HTOutreach (as the members have nick named it) Outside of Pastoring HTOutreach, alongside her husband, LaShele oversees and host bi-monthly empowerment events for the community; themed: “Help, Show Me How to Make it”. They oversee and host monthly outreach events for the homeless, nursing homes & shelter residents; themed: “Feeding the Streets”. They oversee and host monthly youth & young adults events; themed F.L.Y. (Faith Living Youth & Young Adults). LaShele is the founder of L.I.F.T. (Ladies In Fellowship Together), a women’s mentoring group.
She has traveled up & down the East-Coast, boldly preaching & teaching at Prophetic Gatherings, Women & Youth Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Marriage Retreats, Bible Studies & Revivals.
Though LaShele did not grow up in the church & had no real knowledge of who God was, the Lord revealed His Glory through the trials, tribulations & victorious experiences she endured throughout her life.
